Digipak Update

We have began editing our digipak, however, we still need to add the photos so our progress is very limited. We are waiting to take our images for the digipak, which will help finish the digipak completely.

Lesson Update

This lesson, I have started making the Advert for our Final Piece. I did this by using photoshop, as well as Dafont.com in order to download the font for our mastheads and subtitles. I feel that this is effective as the font is very conventional to James Blunt's other albums. As well as this, we have followed conventions by using our own institution logo as well as the social media icons. This identifies to the audience that we, as an institution, are up to date with social media and are available on all platforms.

Advert and Digipak Ideas.

These are our ideas for our advert and digipak. The top image will be used as an idea for our digipak as the front image. I feel this is effective because it includes the silhouette of our actor as well as the main scene for our music video of Roseberry Topping. Similarly, the advert also has these elements with it. This is effective as our target audience will notice the relationship between the digipak and advert and will make links with these and our institution.

Shot List

Shotlist from 14150892

This is our Shot list which accompanies the storyboard. From this, we can identify each shot, the action as well as the mise en scene we hope to portray by using these shots. As well as this, we can portray each camera movement - making sure the camera is constantly moving through out.

Lesson Update

Today, we have peer assessed each others blogs in pairs, using the ABC formate of Add, Build and challenge. I was paired with David Drewit, who looked at both my third rough cut and my blog layout and gave me points to improve. One main point which he mentioned was to add more annotations to each of my blog posts, which is also a target for myself to achieve by the end of this week. As well as this, as a group, we have planned to re-film and get more shots for rough cut 4. This will be done on Sunday 6th December, where we will try to take photos as experimentation for the advert and digpak.

Lesson Update

Today, I have began analysing my 6 chosen fonts that could be used for the advert and digipak. This is evident in the image below.

Lesson Update

Today, I have looked at different fonts for both the advert and digipak. I plan to analyse them individually and single out one main font we will use.

Animatic Storyboard

Tuesday 17 November 2015

Lesson Update

Today, I have completed the animatic storyboard - which I have uploaded to youtube and embedded in the post above.

Monday 16 November 2015

Lesson Update

Today I have continued editing my animatic story board and have been planning times and places to shoot for the flash back scenes in our music video. I feel that this needs very detailed planning as each member of the group have times filming at certain times for reasons like work.

Lesson Update

Today, I have began editing my animatic story board in final cut pro, where I have used the screenshots from my storyboard and began editing the length of the shots to fit the composition and beats of the music.

Detailed Music Video Anakysis Taylor Swift (Final)

Detailed analysis taylor swift from bethdavies5

This detailed analysis will help us as inspiration as to what elements should be included in a 'love story' narrative. This will benefit our group as a consequence of giving us a rough basis of the conventional plot within the narrative.

Lesson Progress

In this lesson, I have began to upload our initial ideas to paddle from a written format. This is going to be put forward to our focus group in a future lesson.

Digipak Analysis Kings of Leon

This digipak analysis will act as a secondary piece of inspiration for our final product as - by using the same conventions that products of the same genre used. Therefore, by analysing this product, it will give us great inspiration.

Advert Analysis Kings of Leon

This advert analysis will benefit our research as it will act as inspiration on what elements to include in our own advert as part of our final piece. This will be beneficial as it help identify the conventions of the genre.

9 Frame Analysis

Our 9 frame analysis will help us to give a rough idea of the conventional mise en scene of James Blunt's music videos. Therefore, this will help us as inspiration for our music video as to what shots to include.

Detailed Music Video Analysis (Imagine Dragons) final

This written response will be used as inspiration of what aspects to include in our music video, especially considering that our artist - James Blunt - is categorised into the same music genre as Imagine Dragons.

Florence and the Machiene Digipak Analysis

Similar to the advert analysis, the digipak analysis will also be used for inspiration when creating our final outcome as a consequence of portraying conventions like a running theme through out the advert and digipak.

Friday 18 September 2015

Florence and the Machine Advert Analysis

This advert analysis will help us as part of inspiration for our final product as it helps identify conventions of general adverts for similar genres. These conventions include the type of images and the fonts.

Detailed Music Video Analysis (James Blunt)

I have also embedded the music video for James Blunt's Heart to heart below.

This written analysis will be used as inspiration for James Blunt's conventions. This is because, as a group, we plan to use a James Blunt song as our track for the music video. Therefore, this will benefit us as a group as it will help identify conventions of the artist himself.

Detailed Music Video Analysis (Taylor Swift) Plan

Detailed analysis (taylor swift) from bethdavies5

I have embedded the music video for 'Wildest Dreams' by Taylor Swift below.

I plan to use this plan to write a detailed response including analysis of the music video. This will help us as inspiration for our final cut.

I have embedded the music video of Heart to Heart by James Blunt below.

I  plan to use this plan to write a detailed structured response including the analysis for this music video.

Shot Count Task 2 (Beyonce)

I have embedded Beyoncé's music video for 'Run The World' below.

I decided to do a second shot count task to help portray a more conventional approach to the number of shots in a more upbeat video. This is effective as it gives us an estimate number of shots that we need to make our music video successful.

Wednesday 9 September 2015

Shot Count Task (Florence and The Machiene)

I have embedded the music video for 'Built This Ship To Wreck' below.

For this task, I had to count each shot of the music video for 'Built this Ship To Wreck', which will effectively help to give a rough estimate for the number of shots needed to create a successful music video. However, this may not have been the best music video to do a shot count task for as each shot flows into each other, creating the illusion of it all being shot at one time. Therefore, this challenges conventions when considering the number of shots used as it had a much smaller number compared to more conventional music videos.
